Interview Abigail Zoe Lewis
Tell Us a little about yourself.
I’m an actress, singer, dancer and have a black belt in taekwondo. I’ve been acting professionally since I was four years old. I was in AMC’s Better Call Saul for 3 seasons where I played Kaylee Ehrmantraut (Mike Ehrmantraut’s granddaughter played by Jonathan Banks). Some of my other television credits include #blackAF, This Is Us, Powerless, Criminal Minds, Teachers, RocketJump: The Show and others. I’ve also voiced several Disney animated characters including a recurring role in Disney’s animated, 101 Dalmatian Street. Additionally, I love music and for the past year I have been writing original songs. I’m working with some amazing music industry music writers and producers. I’m super excited to be releasing some of my originals before the end of the year. I have two rescue dogs, a bearded dragon, a leopard gecko, a beta fish and a moss ball. I’m also an ambassador for 2 non-profit organizations that are dear to my heart; one of them is called, B.A.R.E. barethebully.org for anti-bullying and the other is The Joyful Child thejoyfulchild.org supporting and educating others against child violence.
Congrats, on booking the role in “For Nothing” can you tell us a little about this new project?
This is a dramatic piece of work about the mafia. It has a stellar cast. I’ve seen some of the pilot and it looks pretty intense. I think if you love mob movies this one will knock your socks off. I play a new character, Gina and I’m hoping that filming will start back up again soon.
We love your new song “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying“ tell about the making of the video.
Thank you so much! Oh it was so much fun and filmed in a really cool 50’s diner. This song was originally sung by the uber talented, Sabrina Carpenter. Some of my friends were in it who set me up on a blind date with a popular boy in school. I make all types of embarrassing mistakes but in the end win the boy’s heart. I love happy endings and it was a great first solo music video cover.
What’s your favorite social media app?
TikTok of course! Can’t live without it 24/7 LOL. I love how interactive it is and really brings people together. I admit I am obsessed but at least I’m not the only one (haha).
Do you have any plans for the holidays?
Many… I am really hoping to go to Maui again. My grandparents used to have a beach home there and I find it so very beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. I plan to do a lot of baking and work on my music. I also spend a lot of time with my grandparents during the holidays where they live on the beach.
Who do you look up to or inspires you musically?
There are so many brilliant talents that inspire me and who I look up to musically. Some of them include Dua Lipa, Ava Max, Billie Eilish, Sara Bareilles, Olivia Rodrigo, Lady Gaga and so many others! They inspire because they each have unique styling, they are all incredible writers, they are empowering and strong women.
Do you have someone you would love to collaborate with?
Endless talents, of course! However, right now I would love to collaborate with Olivia Rodrigo because she is very relatable, clever with her song lyrics and the way she really feels her music is incredibly special. I would also love to collaborate with Billie Eilish because there is no one on the music scene like her. She is unique, bold, and breaks the rules in a cleverly artistic way.
Share with us any upcoming projects you would like us to know about.
Absolutely…I am excited to share that I will be releasing some of my original songs soon so please stay tuned! I am also in an upcoming new Disney (NDA) animated series where I play a recurring super fun and really cute lead character. You will also hear my character sing in different episodes. Additionally, I recently booked two (NDA) episodes for a new but classic sci-fi series that I think will be just fantastic. So much to look forward.
